My Term 4 Highlights

This year has been the best year I have ever had and my highlights for this year is going to camp and hanging out with my friends and also with my teacher. Some of my other high lights are tech,e learning,maths and taonga time.

What I learnt about Guy Fawkes

“Wooow”there’s a lot of interesting facts about guy Fawkes.What I have learnt about guy Fawkes is that there is a different name for Guy Fawkes is Bonfire and Guy Fawkes were made in china 2000 years ago . Some rules when you buy fireworks is that you will have to 14 and over to be sold fireworks. Did you know that Guy Fawkes night is a huge UK tradition, probably bigger for us then Halloween. Traditionally it is taught that Guy Fawkes plotted to blow up.

Holloween

“Awesome” that was such great fun on Monday. Me and some of my friends went to rainbows end during the day,we went on all the freaky rides like the FAIR FALL there was also a really big lollies scramble. When we had finished going on all the rides we had went home and got into our costumes for trick o treating at about 4 O'clock. Me and some of my friends were invited into a Halloween party,there were a lot of children there. What I liked the best about the party was the nice food they had got ready for us there was cookie crumble fingers,moose with lollies eyes and a lot more. When we went trick o treating we went to a lot of houses and got a lot of lollies for us.

Thinking Problem

Yesterday morning Room 22 had to get into groups of 3 to solve a thinking problem. Miss T gave us five objects to solve our problem and our objects were a fishing rod, fishing hook, pin, peg and reel of cotton. What we had to solve with our objects was we had to make the best birthday ever. It was really difficult because we hardly had any useful objects to use for the best birthday ever. So we tried our best to make the best birthday in the world. So what we did was we attached the hook to the fishing rod and caught a big fish and then we got the real of cotton to make a t-shirt for the fish and hanged the fish with the peg. But sadly we did not solve the problem so we failed.

How I felt on the last Day of school

“Yeeeees”I said with enjoyment. I cant believe that it is the last week of school. The term has gone very fast. I have enjoyed the last week of school I feel great being in the production witch was Webzidazical, Don’t get caught. But the production practice has nearly taken up all our work time during class, but I think it is alright for me.

During the last week of school the non production people had been moved all over the place so it has been a bit of a muck up for them. But all I have to say about my self during this week is that I have really enjoyed my self and I will have a good week.

This week was the best week of school for me so far and I thank my teacher for giving this week to us.

"Ohhhhhhhh" I said with sadness. Mrs Richards is leaving. Who is Mrs Richards you may ask? Mrs Richards is in my class,Room 22 she is studying to become a teacher. She has been in Room 22 for about 6 weeks. And she has been teaching us for the last 2 weeks. I really enjoyed having her in our class

I enjoyed listening to all of her story's she had been telling us,it was really interesting to hear a lot of facts about her self and her culture.

On the last day Mrs Richards was here, her and some of the students in the class cooked a feed for Room 22 to celebrate her last day in our class. The food was really appreciated and nice (=

7's Champions

"Woooow"I shouted with excitement. Our boys are the champions in New Zealand. Last week our 7's rugby team went to Tauranga to represent our rugby 7s competition. They had to challenge 32 teams to be the best in New Zealand.

I felt worried about the boys because there were a few strong sides down at Tauranga challenging them. But when Ms Va'afusuaga had told the staff that they had been wining their games I was sure of them being the top of New Zealand.

My instincts were right because our team had won all there games. I could not believe it that is such incredible news to hear, I was so blown away.

I am very grateful for the boys because they put a lot of effort in and making our school proud. "WELL DONE BOYS".

In Room 22 we are learning about Intelligence like bodily kinesthetic and naturalistic . The one I'm best at is people smart which is like facts about people or remembering your friends names. The one I am most bad on is music smart which means you know a lot of names of instruments or even know ho to play instruments.

Swimming

For the last two weeks during lunch times the year sevens and eights went out for swimming techniques like free style.The time we go to the pools is 15 minutes past 1.We go to the Y.M.C.A pools so if the emergency bell go’s of we would have our own techniques of how to swim.

Rugby league session's

On Wednesday the 22 of June 2011 Room 22 had gone out for rugby league session’s at the junior court with Sio Siua Taukeiaho. Sio Siua Taukeiaho is an 2011 Vodafone Junior warrior squad.

Soi Siua Taukeiaho had put us into groups of fore and I got put in team 4. He had been teaching us how to zigzag with the ball in our hands and sprint back competing agents another team.

When I had a run it was really difficult for me because I had keep bumping into my team mats but when it come to sprinting back it was really easy because I am fast but what went wrong was when I had gone for the try I had knocked it on so we had not got the final point.

Soi Suia Taukeiaho took us over to the next exercise that was cord kicking tinnies. What we had to do was kick the ball above the shoulders so the opponent could be able to catch the ball. If you touch the ball then drop it you will have to go out to the side line.

When someone from the other group had kicked the ball it had hit my face and my stomach and it had hurt because I was not looking out for the ball when it was coming.

If you were playing would in joy playing Rugby league sessions because I know I did.

Geometry

During Geometry this term we learnt about shapes. In our art we drew circles to make a design. Once we had made our design we coloured in our design with colouring in pencils.
Sadly I didn't finish my design but here is Awhina's design which she completed.

Netball

Room 22 have been learning about netball skills like drills and stretches. We have been doing it at the junior courts. We got started with a whole lot of dynamic stretches and drills with Emma. Emma was our instructor for netball training.

We were warming up with the dynamic stretches and drills. Some of the names were high knees. High knees is trying to lift your knees as high as you can. Our second stretch is kicking our own butts with our own feet and the last stretch was grape vine and that was really hard.

At last we were having a corner ball game of netball. It was really hard because the other team had very good players. There was team one and team two, I was in team two. Room 22 was trying their hardest to get the most scores. That was the first time I had ever played netball.

Taonga time

Taonga time is an activity that we get to do on Fridays after morning tea and all the year seven and eight students go to their activities. We go to taonga time to learn about different passions of our teachers for example Mr J likes music so we are doing a music slide show. If you don’t know what Toanga means it’s treasure or like a green stone or a gold watch.

We have different teachers for each group. Mr Harris takes science, Mr J takes music, Mrs Lagitupu takes art, Mrs Va'afusuanga takes sports and there are a lot of others groups. The group that I am in now is music and my teacher is Mr J. Mr J likes to teach us new songs and slide shows for our group.

Amos reflection

One of the things I was pleased about last term was my behavior.
In my report I got good for work habits and behavior.I felt all right about my report but I knew I could do better than that !

One of the things I want to improve in is my art.
When I got my report I got 1 /12.I felt sad about my self.but I new I could do better than that.

During term one I did all right.One of the things that was detracting me is that I was siting with my friends and not getting a lot of work done.This term I am going to stay focused in my work and try my hardest to get a lot of work done and get expectations in my report.

Amos reflection planning

Room 22 birthday month...

What i have found out about the birthday mouths is that fore students birthdays are on June.And the less amount of students birthdays are on Jan,Feb,Mar,July,Aug,November and December.Most of them had the same birthday mouths like February,March,April,May. We have all different birthday months and it is weird but that is life. I had fun making graphs.

Room 22 votes for Friday lunch

Ms Tito said that she would cook us lunch if we had found out the investigation. The investigation was about what Ms T was going to cook for Fridays lunch. We found out that the most voted was Nachos and the less is Curry and kumara. Some of the votes had the same amount of like taro with chop suey and Fry bread. They both have 22 votes. This investigation was so much fun and I can not wait until we eat our nachos.
